So ofp2is coming to your gaming platform next year around spring time! For us P.C gamers specifications of your rig can make or break the game! So what would be the excepted minimum for the game? Well lets find out!
For starters the game could be released on either P.C DVD or even Blu ray, the latter would dramatically change the situation because that means 25gig’s worth of data can be stored onto this media type making a hefty initial installation.
Playing massive open geographical environments in games usually means lagg! Not the term used for slow internet connections but more over, graphical performance. Massive open environments such as bf2, nothing as close as ofp or ofp2 though! lagged even with fast systems! This will be no different in ofp2! Bellow are estimated specification needed to run minimum settings and then I will look into maximum settings for the no budget gamers, thats me out then!
OFP2 Minimum Specs **estimated**
- CPU: AMD 64 3200+ / Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz +
- Memory: 512MB (XP) or 1GB (Vista)
- HD Space: 8GB
- Graphics Card: Nvidia 6600GT/ATI Radeon 1600XT or higher (Shader 3.0 or better) with 256MB memory
These specifications are based on the latest cod5 and Far Cry 2 engines. Remember that ofp2’s gaming engine is totally different to these and so specifications could be lower/ higher. From the time of this blog post to the official release, computer specifications will change, DDR 3 will be widely used, core i7 will be officially mainstream, gamers will be using directx 10. I really doubt these specifications would play the game enjoyably
Stay posted for more information and news articles on ofp2 specifications. Have your say and tell me what specifications you would expect the game to require! I will be compiling a list of specifications and benchmarks in the up-coming months of this year.

Corrct me If I’m wrong but these screenshots look very similar in graphical/feel to grand Theft Auto 4. Wonder if the gfx engine is similar to that in which case you need a hefty system to go anywhere near it. Just a thought.

I am running Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit and have a quad core processor; q6600 (@2.4GHz- 2.6GHz), 3gb ram and an ATI 4870 1024mb (system registers 2gb) ‘gold sample’ (tiwce the power) and i can run GTA IV everything full accept 1 setting needs to be lowerd by 1.
If you have a rig similar to this, you will have no problem running this game. And it wasn’t even that expensive to build this.
But, another 1GB of ram could be vital as in GTA IV, the ‘Read Me’ says that 4GB ram is required to run the game on full and my configuration justifies this.
Just a thought as someone commented on how similar it looked to GTA IV.
One more thing, GTA IV WAS OPTIMIZED FOR QUAD CORE AND 64-BIT OPERATING SYSTEMS!!!

Heres what I am running, I’m just curious to know where this system fits in.
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E6850 3GHz
1333 mhz fsb
4 MB Cache
4 MB DDR2 RAM
G45T-M2 G45 Motherboard
ATI Radeon™ HD 2600
Will I have any issues running this?
