ofp2 demo release date
It has been thought across the community that the ofp2 demo will be released very shortly. An official codemaster source has released information that an official demo will be released shortly. There has been much speculation regarding the operation flashpoint 2 demo.
Ofp2 online can confirm the ofp2 demo was originally going to be released prior to the launch of operation flashpoint 2. We can now confirm that the demo plans have now changed. The launch of the ofp2 demo will be released post launch of the final ofp2 release date. The demo will consist of a single and co-cooperative mode for P.C users only.
To be honest OFP2 online are not surprised by this action. It seems there is a slight bias for P.C based platforms. P.C gamers seem to get the level editing and the demo release. Lets hope that future information will give cross platform gamers i.e. Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 the chance to play the demo also. It would be a shame if the demo is not release for both console communities. (lets not forget the original game was created for the p.c market only).
There are many factors to consider why codemasters has decided to release the official game before the demo. The main reason is that the development team would like full focus on the official game not the demo. Secondly in order to create a fully polished 100% finished game the demo must be pushed back, its understandable.

Even though it will be the console that will be signing paychecks, we get left behind. Even with going over a years worth of delays they cant even grace us with a demo. oh yeah leave it upto codemasters to f this one up i was really looking foward to OFP2.. but i dont know now i mean really theres more console players than pc .. on the fact most ppl cant afford 2grand pc to play games on an consoles are just as good but no f them we need to make the pc version better.. ya what happened to theres going to be no differences between console an pc .. what happened to having a demo out before launch i mean shit you’ve had 7-8 years to work on the game hell who takes that long

I said I wasnt going to buy Call of Duty:World at War due to the ‘Beta Code Release’ to select people…wtf? Why are they being so cheap? So I just took the poll stating if I were to play it, it would be on Xbox 360. And it would seem we are only 9% down from PC and a little over 100 people away from PC that have taken the poll so why not release a fully loaded demo for Xbox at least????

first off it does not cost 2grand for a REALY nice pc.second off in the long run pc is cheaper than 360.third off you can do more stuff with pc mods,etc,so i have to say one thing YALL ARE STUPID.

It seems that game developers won’t release a demo “only” if there is a reason. Either the games sucks and wants people to buy it before realizing it sucks, Competition with other games such as MW2 in this case, or just laziness. They simply don’t want to give you the chance to compare games with there foe. –Save your money for MW2. IW knows how to deliver a great game. There might not be a BETA but you won’t be disappointed by delays.

I’ve been raving on about this game for about a year now to everyone, itching for it to come out, hoping it simply will be the greatest game ever! The lack of a demo is concerning to say the least. I don’t believe they are still working on the game just 2 weeks before release thats just bullshit. When would they have time to start producings and shipping it!? I have not seen 1 single advert for the game yet. How are they hoping to sell it with titles such as MW2 on the horizon with no publicity!? This is all sounding suspiciously like its going to be a mediocre game that just wasn’t worth the hype ive created around it!

Why compare this game to MW2? MW2 is a run and gun unrealistic FPS, while OFP2 is more of a military simulator.
IMO the consoles need more games like this. If you think COD or Battlefield are large scale, tactical, or realistic you need to play some OFP or ArmA. Bringing games like this to the consoles gives people more options than are available atm, because there are simply no tactical/realistic warfare games available. I’ve played ArmA on PC for quite a while, and with the costs of upgrading or buying a new PC it would be nice to see some good games come out for the consoles. Sadly with the popularity of mindless run and gun console games (COD,BF,Halo,ect) it seems all the good games will be confined to the PC, or even worse, have the realism raped out of them(the rainbow six series).

Right why compare this to cod mw2 that game is so easy and dumbed down. Although i think this game is great most ppl wont like it cuz its oo realistic for them and will think it sucks cuz its not pop pop bang and run out like cod halo or killzone. little kiddo small map where u blow everything and get as many kills possible its about getting a mission done with teamwork, if thats the gameplay you are looking for then get the game. I don’t understand why a demo of some sort hasn’t been released yet. If the release date holds true on the 6th coming up it would only increase sales much like it did for COD4 when it first came out. I really hope this game is going to be worth the wait because I have been waiting for seems like 2 years or more for this game. I guess we will all find out in just two weeks whether or not this is all just false promises again. It’s very hard, especially as a huge OFP fan, to not feel reserved about all this due to past disappointing release dates given. Sempre Fi!!!

For GAWD sakes all you console babies crying about this. LOOK at the poll results for PC vs CONSOLE. It is QUITE clear that this game will be more played by PC gamers than any console communities COMBINED. I have a PS3 and YES I play games on it, but not simulation games like this. This game is not intended for audiences 18 and below. (my guess is ALL that complain are MINORS and under the age of 18) - So go get another paper route to pay for a pc or shud da fak up.

I wasn’t comparing OPF2 to MW2, It’s just that in this economy right now some people can’t afford buying both games only separated by a month. I’m just saying if your interested in both, the sure thing for a great game is MW2. And yes why wouldn’t you advertise OFP2 more besides the 2 min trailers they release. I hope OFP2 is the great game that we all want and Anticipate.

When the original classic OFP demo first came out in the PC Authority Mag {CD}I was stoked. I agonised for weeks waiting for the games release, The demo was excellent I new I had to get the game. Now Codemasters insisted there would be a demo prier to the games release, that was the right thing to do. What the F*** are you playing at? “Seven”, Count them, ssseeevvveennn yyyyeeerrrss, & you expect us to believe you didn’t have time to complete the promised demo? There must be some thing seriously wrong with the game if your to scared to release & publicly test a demo, before you flog your game. “Release the demo”. We will determine if all your hype is BS or not. Then we mite buy your game with pleasure instead of all this sneaky sh**.

I too have been raving about how cool this game looks and sounds. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of a demo before the actual launch of the game. I agree 100% that it’s bullshit that they are using the excuse of trying to put all their efforts into finishing the game. I can only imagine how buggy the game is going to be and how long we will have to wait for the first patch to come out to fix all the crap they didn’t catch.
As far as all you console retards crying about being fair and putting out a demo for you…well go suck it. Consoles have been trying to catch up to PC games for years. PC games have been around since the beginning and they will not be going anywhere. We are the ones that brought gaming to where it is today, not you little kiddies that need your mindless queer games. Leave this game to the big people and go play with your Rock Band sticks.

Simply coz the consoles have limited space to squeeze such a game and there fore have to limit the graphics to be able to shoe horn the game in to a workable platform. all those winging about the consoles getting a bum deal should buy a PC. £500 will easily get a capable PC + you get better graphics and cheaper games and over a year that makes up for any price difference. Big up the codemaster!! ps .stinky consoles get DIRT 2 and i have to wait till December!!!!

Everyone who is mad about the demo,
The first operation flashpoint was on the PC. Maybe they just want to do right by the gamers that made the first operation flashpoint a success.
All you console gamers (I am a PC and console gamer), this game will probably be played by more PC gamers than console gamers. From a business standpoint, it’s more costly to develop for a console than PC. If less of your revenue is going to come from console, why would you sink more costs into a console demo? You take advantage of the market that is most likely to generate the most revenue. With the economy the way it is, companies have to pinch every penny.
So try and understand.
You will probably eventually get a demo. And while that sucks, just hang tight. Try not to get so worked up over it. Just rent it, gamefly it or something if you don’t want to wait.

The developer does not physically make the discs or package it, or ship it. They have nothing to do with that part of it.
Odds are the development team is taking the weekend off after 3 or 4 years of hard work on the game. Then they will come back and probably work on DLC for the game.

You dont need that good a rig to play games well on a pc, jeez most cpu’s with 2gb ram and a geforce 8800gtx will play anything on superior to 360 settings. All of which can be bought for less than a ps3. Anyway, if you wanted the game so bad, dont be a fag, a demo would only have been a bonus. What with youtube gameplay vids and a hundred reviews online you cant say your ignorant of how it plays before you buy.

unoitsme you fail, pc is for people with skill, unlike console which have aim assist, and doug, codemasters favour pc because its better and they can make graphics/gameplay better, not downgrading it so it can run on consoles.
Consoles are a waste of money, pc can do everything console can do and 100000x more things….and for people who say i only play console because i like the controllers, you can use them on pc anyway….consoles are for kiddys, as the controlers are easyer to use than two seperate hands pressing multiple buttons at once, console are for uncos.
